Framingham has received funds to complete a multi-use pathway designed to link residents in nearby neighborhoods to downtown transit.
The town was one of 11 communities to receive funding from the Complete Streets Program. The $400,000 funding to Framingham will pay for a section of a two-way multi-use path originating just north of the intersection of Fountain Street and Dudley Road and continuing along the east side of Dudley Road, terminating at Dr. Harvey L. Cushing Way. The multi-use path will link residents who live close by to downtown transit, employers, and schools, and provide access to major town recreation amenities, according to a release from the state.
The project is projected to be completed by July of 2017. It was one of 11 projects that received money in the latest round of funding.
A municipality is eligible for up to $50,000 for technical assistance, and up to $400,000 for construction funding.
