First-Time Jobless Claims Up 24K

In the week ending April 10, 484,000 Americans filed claims for unemployment insurance coverage for the first time, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
That's an increase of 24,000 from the previous week's unrevised figure of 460,000.The 4-week moving average was 457,750, an increase of 7,500 from the previous week.
The insured unemployment rate was 3.6 percent for the week ending April 3, an increase of 0.1 percentage point from the prior week.
