Acquisition expands FCHP's home care holdings
Worcester-based Fallon Community Health Plan, in a joint venture with VNA Care Networks & Hospice, has acquired Home Staff, a privately held firm also based in Worcester that provides home services. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The new company will be called Home Staff LLC.
Home Staff was founded in 1977 and has more than 370 employees operating out of four offices in Worcester, Centerville, Leominster and West Springfield.
"We are very pleased to have found these two mission-focused organizations who share our compassion and commitment to providing local, community-based care," said Nancy Stassi, president of Home Staff.Stassi will not be staying on under the new ownership.
Angela Rocheleau, who has worked at Home Staff for more than 16 years, will step in to be CEO of the company.
Home care is not new to FCHP. The HMO also operates Summit ElderCare, a program that provides care for the elderly within their homes and communities.
