The Worcester-based physicans' group Fallon Clinic will change its name to Reliant Medical Group this fall.
The group will also change its logo to reflect its affiliation with Atrius Health. Fallon Clinic announced its plan to join Newton-based Atrius Health in June. Fallon Clinic is named after its founder, Dr. Michael Fallon.
Fallon Clinic officials said that the change will allow the company to distinguish itself in the area market and eliminate any confusion with Fallon Community Health Plan, which is an insurance company. The two entities were formed after a split in 2004.
Fallon Clinic, which has approximately 250 physicians and more than 20 practices in Central Massachusetts, will keep the same doctors and offices and accept the same insurance plans once it becomes Reliant.
