Employers Take Cautious Approach On '12 Hiring

U.S. employers expect to add jobs in 2012, but are waiting to see how the economy performs before deciding how much they will add to their payrolls, according to Career Builder's annual job forecast.

The online jobs board said nearly one in four hiring managers plan to add full-time permanent employees next year, which are similar to results in a 2011 forecast. Employment trends among small businesses, which account for most of the job creation in the United States, are expected to show improvement over this year.

While 23 percent expect to hire full-timers in 2012, 7 percent foresee job losses in their organizations, the same as in 2011 but down from 9 percent in 2010.
