Concord-based Emerson Hospital will benefit from a $2.5 million lease issued by MassDevelopment on its behalf, for the purpose of investing in new equipment , MassDevelopment announced Monday.
The proceeds of the lease will pay for new IT equipment, fetal monitors, an instrument container systems and patient beds, as well as related renovations, MassDevelopment said in a statement.
In addition to its main campus in Concord, Emerson Hospital treats patients at three other locations in Westford, Groton and Sudbury.
MassDevelopment, the state’s finance and development agency, provides financing programs to state businesses to stimulate economic growth, including tax-exempt leases like the one issued for Emerson.
“As technology in the medical field rapidly changes, MassDevelopment’s tax-exempt leases offer flexible financing options for health care providers,” said MassDevelopment CEO Marty Jones.
