Gardner-based Precision Optics Corp. has landed a $660,000 deal to make custom-designed endoscopes for one of its largest medical device customers, the company announced today.
The endoscopes, which will be delivered over a sixteen-month period beginning in July, will employ Precision Optics' patented Microprecision lens technology, according to the company.
Precision Optics CEO Joseph Forkey said the deal was made after the company demonstrated its endoscopes for the customer in January. The company did not disclose the identity of the customer.
"We are honored to provide our products and services to this valued, world-class medical device customer, and look forward to ongoing discussions regarding our newest technologies," Forkey said in a statement.
Precision Optics recently showcased its latest innovations in micro-optics and 3D endoscopy technologies at two tradeshows, which it said has resulted in growing interest.
