eICU Comes To Harrington
Harrington Hospital in Southbridge has formed a partnership with UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester to allow electronic monitoring of its intensive care unit.
Through the agreement, UMass Memorial intensive care specialists will monitor Harrington patients remotely, using systems that transmit patients' vital signs, as well as audio and video feeds from the hospital beds.
Harrington patients and staff will be able to talk with the UMass Memorial physicians through two-way video.
The UMass eICU system already serves patients at several hospitals including the medical center, HealthAlliance Hospital in Leominster, Marlborough Hospital and Wing Memorial Hospital in Palmer.
