Harrington HealthCare President and CEO Edward Moore has transformed the healthcare system in South Worcester County. Moore's vision for healthcare delivery is in line with the new vision for healthcare across the country: In short, community-based care is king.
By beefing up Southbridge-based Harrington's services, focusing on quality ratings, aggressively recruiting doctors and revamping the former Hubbard Hospital in Webster with a new emergency department, and soon, a new inpatient behavioral health unit, Moore has made comprehensive local care a reality in the region since his arrival in 2007. This is important as public transit is limited in Southbridge, making the trip to Worcester for care is difficult for many.
Moore has played a key role in hospital advocacy on the statewide level, finishing a three-year term on the Massachusetts Hospital Association Board of Trustees in June 2014.
