Devens manufacturer of polyethylene bags Laddawn has been acquired by an Indiana firm for an undisclosed amount.
Berry Global Group, a supplier of non-woven, flexible and rigid products for consumer and industrial end markets, announced the deal in August.
The company did not disclose the terms of the deal, but Berry Global Group in its fiscal 2018 financial results said it spent $702 million on acquisitions for the year.
In February, the company completed a $475-million acquisition of Clopay Plastics Products Company.
Privately-held Laddawn has 380 employees and generated more than $145 million in net sales in the 12 months ending July 31.
In a press release, Berry Chairman and CEO Tom Salmon said Laddawn’s web and mobile sales platform made the company an attractive acquisition prospect.
“We believe Laddawn’s highly technical online capabilities will support immediate growth, via this e-commerce platform, to assist in quicker customer response times and small order fulfillments for the faster growing small and medium sized customer base,” Salmon said. “The combined Laddawn and Berry custom film product portfolio will provide a vast range of product offerings to thousands of valued customers further strengthening our core films business.”
