Patrick J. Sullivan, the former chairman, president and CEO of Marlborough-based Cytyc Corp. has resigned from his position as chairman of the board at Hologic Inc. , the Bedford-based company that bought Cytyc last year.
In a statement released by Hologic, Sullivan said he is leaving to pursue “new opportunities.” Before joining Cytyc in 1991, Sullivan worked in sales and marketing positions at Abbott Laboratories.
Hologic appointed Jack W. Cumming, the company’s CEO, to replace Sullivan as chairman.
Hologic produces medical devices for women’s health.
