Coworkers Notice Break Room Etiquette

Results of a new OfficeTeam survey suggest that cleanliness is valued very highly in many workplaces.

The survey asked workers which break room behavior was the most annoying, and 44 percent said making a mess for others to clean up.

Another 19 percent said stealing a coworkers' food was most annoying, while 18 percent said leaving expired or spoiled food in the office refrigerator topped the list of dirty deeds.

OfficeTeam, a temporary staffing service for administrative employees, said many people think what they do in the break room goes unnoticed, and suggested that employees in the break room should think of their mothers reminding them to clean up after themselves.
