The Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts distributed $487,566 to local organizations in its most recent quarter, according to the foundation.
The foundation, which has over 170 charitable funds established by donors, made 125 grants during the quarter to programs in the area of education, health, environmental causes, and arts and culture programs. Some of the local organizations that received distributions included: The Boys & Girls Club of Fitchburg and Leominster, Montachusett Interfaith Hospitality Network and Townsend Public Library.
Since its creation in 2001, the foundation has awarded over $35 million in grants and distributions.
