Cogmedix chosen as manufacturer for robotic arm system

Worcester medical device manufacturer Cogmedix, Inc. has entered into a manufacturing agreement with a Toronto medical robotics company for the development and production of a system to improve arm mobility and function in patients with neurological conditions.

The agreement, announced Monday with Bionik Laboratories, has Cogmedix – a subsidiary of Westborough-based Coghlin Cos. – producing the InMotion Arm system, an interactive robotic system.

According to a press release from Bionik, the initial agreement is for turnkey, compliant manufacturing with the possibility production will increase if the new technology is positively received.

The dollar amount of the agreement was not disclosed.

The system is a relaunch of Bionik’s original product, and it features a modern industrial design and a new software interface.
