Clark University will offer full-time City of Worcester employees a 40% discount on tuition for undergraduate- and graduate- level courses this fall.

The discount will apply to courses offered through Clark’s School of Professional Studies’ undergraduate transfer/degree completion program, with eligible areas of study including general studies, biotechnology, communications, criminal justice, cybersecurity, human resources development, public administration, and social services, according to a Thursday press release from the Worcester school

City of Worcester employees who seek to participate in the school’s Master of Public Administration Senior Leadership program will have the 40% discount matched by the City.

“Clark University has once again stepped up to offer a great tuition discount for municipal employees to continue their education,” Worcester City Manager Eric Batista said in the press release. “Personal and professional development is an important aspect in any sector, but increasingly critical in public service. I am grateful to our city’s academic institutions for affording its municipal workforce with opportunities such as this.”

The tuition agreement runs through the summer of 2028.

“We are thrilled to partner with the City of Worcester to offer this special tuition discount for our dedicated city employees,” John LaBrie, dean and associate provost for graduate studies and international programming at Clark, said in the press release. “This initiative is our way of recognizing and supporting the hard work and commitment of those who serve our community every day. By making education more accessible, we hope to empower our employees to achieve their personal and professional goals.”

In addition to this new program focused on City employees, Clark offers free tuition for residents of the University Park neighborhood who meet eligibility requirements.
