Five Central Massachusetts companies will receive $520,000 in grants from the commonwealth and are expected to create a combined 53 jobs by the end of 2015.
The job training awards were announced Wednesday by the Patrick administration. Some $2.8 million was allotted to 37 companies across the commonwealth, that are slated to create a combined 263 new jobs.
“By investing in workforce training, we are increasing opportunity and skills for workers while also making Massachusetts companies more competitive and sustainable,” said Joanne Goldstein, labor and workforce development secretary, in a statement.
