Boston Scientific Corp. of Natick has received approval to launch a new coronary stent system in Europe.
The bare-metal system, which is designed to help cardiologists treat coronary artery disease, received CE mark approval. BSX said it plans to begin marketing it immediately in the European Union and other countries that use the CE Mark approval.
The CE mark certifies that a product has met the European Union’s consumer safety, health or environmental requirements, similar to the U.S. FDA approval.
