Boston Scientific Corp. of Natick has received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration for a new product for the treatment of chronic pain.
The Infinion 16 Percutaneous Lead works with BSX’s Precision Plus Spinal Cord Stimulator. It uses 16 “stimulating contacts,” twice as many as existing devices, to deliver electrical pulses to the spinal cord. The pulses mask pain signals to the brain.
The company is introducing the product at a meeting of the North American Neuromodulation Society today in Las Vegas.
