Bassett Named NAICU Chair
Bassett
John Bassett, president of Clark University, has been named chairman of the board of directors of the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities.
Bassett, who will retire from Clark in June, will serve as chairman of the association for a one-year term. He acted as vice chairman of the board for the 2009-2010 term.
Bassett became president of Clark in 2000. Before that, he was dean of the college of arts and sciences at Case Western Reserve University. He has a doctorate from the University of Rochester and bachelor's and master's degrees from Ohio Wesleyan University.
After leaving Clark, Bassett will lead Heritage University in Washington.
