Baker says vaccine passport coming soon to Massachusetts

Massachusetts will soon become the next state to implement a digital vaccine passport system, falling in ranks with states like California, New York, and, most recently, Rhode Island, Gov. Charlie Baker said on a Monday episode of GBH News' Boston Public Radio.

The system Massachusetts plans to launch features a scannable QR code and is being worked on with between 15 and 20 other states, Baker said on the program.

“This is my proof that I’ve been vaccinated,” Baker said, demonstrating the technology to the program’s hosts.

The QR code system could be used , he said, “for all sorts of things where people may choose to require a vaccine.”

Proof of vaccination, or else a recent negative COVID test, is required at some businesses in Massachusetts, including Worcester. Both The Palladium and The Hanover Theatre in Worcester are among local venues to implement such a policy.

This is all about fear mongering and controlling the citizens who elected these politicians. It has nothing to do with protecting the public. Governor Baker will not be back per his announcement but remember the other politicians in the state that support this and vote them out the next chance you get. You won’t need any ID or passport to vote - isn’t that strange?

I’ve been living in France and have had a digital QR code since the beginning of the epidemic - the app was mandatory for all people in France with a “smart” phone - every time I had a COVID test you would download the QR code to your phone and it even tells you via Bluetooth if you are near someone that tested positive - MA is a joke when it comes to safety - you can’t even get tested on the spot - France has an app, KADUCEE, and you can sign up for testing or a vaccination (all EU countries have this). MA is shameful for testing.
