On Tuesday, Framingham State University announced three finalists to replace outgoing President Javier Cevallos.
Allia Carter is the current executive vice president and chief operating officer at Virginia Union University in Richmond. Roxanne Gonzales Walker is provost and vice president of academic affairs at New Mexico Highlands University in Las Vegas, N.M. Nancy Niemi is provost and vice president for academic affairs at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Princess Anne, Md.
The finalists are being considered to become the eighth president of Framingham State. Cevallos announced in March he would retire at the end of this academic year.
The school said it received more than 80 applications, which were reviewed by a 12-member presidential search committee facilitated by Illinois consulting firm WittKieffer.
