The third-largest turbine manufacturer in China and one of the top 10 largest turbine manufacturers in the world has placed initial orders for American Superconductor Corp. parts.
Dongfang Turbine Co. will use AMSC electrical control systems in 3- and 5-megawatt wind turbine systems, which were designed with AMSC.
AMSC, which is based in Devens, said China is the world’s largest wind power market in terms of annual installations.
