Q. How are you settling in at your new office?
A. Quite seamlessly. I have been warmly welcomed and made to feel right at home. Bancroft has a strong reputation in providing a rigorous K-12 education, but the school’s supportive community of students, parents, faculty and staff has exceeded even my highest expectations.

Q. What challenges do you see in your new position?
A. The business of education is full of surprises, so I suspect that there are some that have yet to reveal themselves. The routine challenges of my position, however, are constants: Balancing the ever-increasing costs of providing a quality education with the pressures of constrained resources.

Q. What's your favorite thing about Central Massachusetts?
A. What’s not to like? It somehow manages to be green friendly and urbane at the same time. The people are friendly, welcoming, cultured and fun. It’s a stone’s throw from the ocean, the mountains, and the big city. I’m impressed.

Q. How far is your commute to the office?
A. A pleasant couple of miles down tree-lined streets and past beautiful Indian Lake. Can’t complain.

Q. What could local and state governments do to make things better for your business?
A. Anything that benefits the local economy, encourages new business and keeps our city working and growing. As a member of this community, Bancroft welcomes a continued dialogue with local and state officials to partner on issues critical to our neighborhood and surrounding region.

Q. What's the best way to keep your energy and motivation up when you're having a long day?
A. Remember to take mental breaks. Get away from the computer and talk to actual people. Think positively!

Q. Do you have any hobbies outside of work?
A. Mostly my wife and kids! But also surfing, writing, skiing, music, cooking, reading, gardening, and fly-fishing.

Q. What's on your to-do list for the next couple of days?
A. Budgets, audits, financial reporting, trustee meetings and a few days off with my family.
