451K File First-Time Jobless Claims

In the week ending Sept. 4, 451,000 Americans filed claims for unemployment insurance coverage for the first time, according to the U.S. Department of Labor.
That's a decrease of 27,000 from the previous week's revised figure of 478,000. The 4-week moving average was 477,750, a decrease of 9,250 from the previous week.
The advance seasonally adjusted insured unemployment rate was 3.5 percent for the week ending Aug. 28, unchanged from the prior week.
