Ten months after a community-owned brewing company shut its taps on Knowlton Avenue, 3cross Fermentation Cooperative is planning to relaunch next month.
“We have finally completed the necessary plumbing repairs and will reopen on January 10th with a grand reopening party,” said Dave Howland, the founder. "We're trying to get the word out that we're back and hope people haven't forgotten about us."
He said party attendees can expect a lineup of up to a dozen 3cross beers, food from Wooden Noodles, a refreshed taproom, and plenty of good company.
The brewery's name, 3cross, is a cycling term that refers to every wheel spoke intersects three others between the hub and the rim. Crossing the spokes over helps riders handle pedaling and braking.
In February, the brewery said on Facebook that it was searching for a new home in the city. But Howland said he spent months trying to find a new space in Worcester without success.
"It seemed to make sense to stay put," he said.
