PARTNER, Estate Preservation Law Offices
Company location: Worcester
Residence: Hubbardston
Favorite movie: "The Sound of Music" - historical and inspiring.
Age: 30
Career highlights: I wanted to be a lawyer since childhood. While an undergraduate, I worked at an area nursing home where I developed an interest in health care issues and the senior population. As a law student at Suffolk University, I interned for the Worcester District Attorney’s Office, and then took a trusts and estates internship at Fusaro, Altomare & Ermilio. After passing the bar, I stayed on as an associate and, in 2009, I left that firm to establish Estate Preservation Law Offices with Brendan King.
Community involvement: I feel strongly about advocating for youth by encouraging and empowering them to take control of their futures. Serving on the board of directors at Girls Inc. helps me do that. I also mentor campers at the Ron Burton Training Village in Hubbardston. Several years ago, I created The Estate Preservation Law Scholarship Fund to encourage and support students in their quest for higher education.
Biggest success: After several years of working together, Brendan King and I evaluated our mutual expertise and knowledge. We then decided to open our own firm. We have never regretted that decision and are pleased with our firm’s success.
Biggest challenge: Balancing my career with the rest of my life. As a business owner, the workday never ends. I take my responsibilities toward my business partner and staff very seriously. However, it’s equally, if not more, important to take care of yourself and those you love. Thankfully I have the world’s most supportive spouse.
Mentors: I’m fortunate to have crossed paths with many people who have positively influenced me. Throughout childhood my parents encouraged me in my educational endeavors and professional goals. My business partner mentored me during my internship at FA&E, and my spouse continues to help me keep my business and professional perspectives in line.
Hidden talent: I’ve always enjoyed creative writing.
