Robert Cormier
Age: 30
Title: Senior Product Manager
Company: Wright Line
Company location: Worcester
Residence: Gardner
College: ITT Technical Institute
Career highlights: As a product manager for one of Wright Line’s strongest furniture products, the profile communication console, I oversee its design, development, and promotion.
I began my career as a CAD Drafter 10 years ago and I have enjoyed working my way up through a variety of roles. I believe that my dedication and my hands-on approach have helped my career progression and I know they have provided me with great job satisfaction throughout my career.
Community involvement: I currently serve as chairman of the board of the Holy Rosary School in Gardner. In addition to being a former student, two of my three children are currently enrolled in the school with my third to follow.
As a student, Holy Rosary taught me two important factors for success that I apply in my life — hard work and a philosophy of helping others.
Biggest professional success: The development and market launch of Wright Line’s new office furniture line, Compass, earlier this year. The introduction of Compass is important to our competitive position in the market.
Dream job: I would be a member of the Disney Imagineering team.
Businessperson he admires most and why: Normand Boucher of Boucher Funeral home in Gardner. His courage to make the career change from accountant to funeral director has always intrigued me and he did it while he and his wife, Priscilla, raised a family of five.
If you were stuck on a desert island what book would you want to have with you? I definitely would have to choose Jimmy Buffet’s Salty Piece of Land. If I am going to be on a desert island, I am going to need to follow an expert’s lead on how to relax.
