John W.S. Creedon Jr.

Age: 28

Title: Attorney

Company: Fletcher, Tilton & Whipple

Company location: Worcester

Residence: Worcester

Career highlights:

I’m an attorney at Fletcher, Tilton & Whipple focusing on litigation. I grew up in Shrewsbury and went to St. John’s High School. After leaving Massachusetts for college and law school and being fortunate enough to study and travel abroad, I realized that Worcester is a fantastic place to live and work.

The draw of returning home to be back with family and friends was an opportunity that I couldn’t pass up. And in FTW, I found a firm that appreciates work/life balance and encourages its attorneys to be active in the community which makes it an enjoyable place to practice.

Community involvement:

I’m active with the Mohegan Council, Boy Scouts of America. I’m also working with a group of people to expand the Shrewsbury Public Library which is currently busting at the seams trying to accommodate the tens of thousands of people that it serves.

I’m also involved with the Ancient Order of Hibernians in Worcester and worked with an outstanding group of people to put together the first Worcester Irish Music Festival back in June. Lastly, I’m on the advisory board for the Devereux School in Rutland.

Biggest professional success:

In about the two years that I’ve been practicing law, I obtained a judgment for one client in the amount of $1.09 million. I strive to give 110 percent to each client recognizing that the matters that clients come to us with — at least in the litigation practice area — tend to be the things that are keeping them awake at night.

Businessperson you admire most:

My father. My dad started his business, Creedon and Co. Inc., in 1985 with $500 and has built it into quite an enterprise. I’m thankful everyday because my dad is not only my father, he’s also my role model, best friend, teacher of life’s lessons and what it is to be a gentleman.

Favorite movie:

“Scent of a Woman.”

If you were stuck on a desert island, what book would you want to have with you?

“Legacy of Honor,” by Alvin Townley. The book is about the values and influence of America’s Eagle Scouts.
