Career highlights: My role is to help the Boys & Girls Club impact the lives of more than 450 youth each day in Worcester. This includes developing great staff, maximizing partnerships and ensuring that the staff has the tools they need to succeed. The key to my professional development has been the culture of mentorship in Boys & Girls Clubs. Throughout my Boys & Girls Club career, I have embraced leadership opportunities such as: managing conferences, being a national trainer, serving on advisory councils and reviewing national programs.
Community involvement: I serve on a number of committees in the city, mostly concerning youth.
Biggest professional success: I am most proud of the Boys & Girls Club’s staff team that is having tremendous impact in Worcester. Beyond teaching dance, technology or athletics, they use relationships to transform our member’s lives, giving them a platform to get an education, break the cycle of poverty and become Worcester’s leaders.
Dream job: I’m working my dream. There is no greater reward than seeing the youth who need us most develop into leaders.
Businessperson he admires most and why: My father, Charles Hungler, was the chief financial officer of a meat packing company. He modeled honesty, high standards and a tremendous work ethic. He was respected by his peers.
If you weren’t doing the job you’re doing now, what would you do? I would work in finance. My father was a CFO and my brother is a certified financial planner. It is a different way to help people, offering advice to ensure that they are financially secure and support their family through their old age.
