Xcellerex has broken ground on a new building to be used for biomanufacturing at the company’s Marlborough headquarters.
The building is being branded by the company as a FlexFactory.
According to the company’s website, the FlexFactory model allows each unit in the biomanufacturing process to be self-contained, which eliminates the need for clean-room facilities.
The building is the second at the company’s MetroWest headquarters and is expected to be complete by September.
The expansion plans come nearly two months after the company announced it had named Guy Broadbent as its new CEO.
