Two Worcester Price Rite grocery stores are among those the New Jersey-based chain has overhauled.
Price Rite marked official re-openings of its two Worcester stores Friday, at 117 Gold Star Blvd. and 520 Southbridge St. Four other locations have also been renovated in Massachusetts and New Hampshire in a rebranding initiative that was launched last fall, the company said. More than 20 others have also been overhauled this year across the company's Northeast footprint.

The stores' new look puts a greater emphasis on fresh foods and a discounted-price area called the Drop Zone. Price Rite has also added new private-label and organic products. The decor is brighter, and produce sections have been reorganized.
The two Worcester stores are the only Central Massachusetts locations for Price Rite, which has 60 stores between Massachusetts and Virginia. Friday's grand reopening included a complimentary $20 gift card to the first 400 customers at each store.
