Worcester Firm Lands Steel Plant Order

Worcester-based Morgan Construction, a Siemens VAI business, has received an order to produce a new coil handling system for a wire rod mill.
The system was ordered by Missouri-based Leggett & Platt Inc., but will be installed by a subsidiary, Sterling Steel LLC of Illinois. The system is scheduled to be completed by the end of 2010.
Sterling previously worked with Morgan on a plant modernization project in 2003. The plant produces 490,000 tons of wire rod per year.
