Slatwall Commerce, an e-commerce platform based in Worcester, has been acquired by the Australian firm Ultra Commerce, according to a Wednesday press release from Ultra.
The acquisition occurred over the summer, Matthew Hyland, CEO of Ultra Commerce, said in the press announcement.
The purchase price was not disclosed. All of Slatwall's employees will remain with the company, creating a total of 120 employees globally and 40 in the U.S., said Slatwall CEO David Crouch in an email. The company will continue operating out of the Worcester headquarters.
Ultra Commerce is an e-commerce platform working with businesses to help them grow their online presence.
“Our combined technology and development prowess creates an e-commerce solution that will revolutionize this space,” said Crouch in a statement. “This could not be a more exciting time for the company or for the e-commerce market as a whole.”
Crouch will become Chief Operating Officer at Ultra.
E-commerce is a rapidly growing sector with manufacturers expected to double digital revenue over the next three years, per the announcement.
