Jim Madigan is now president and CEO of the construction company his grandfather, Francis, started 80 years ago.
Madigan was named the fourth president and CEO of Worcester construction firm F.W. Madigan Company, Inc. He takes over from his brother, Francis W. Madigan III, who will stay with the firm as chief financial officer and director of risk management.
“Fran and I have worked well together these past 24 years, and he and I feel confident that this is the right time in our company for this ‘changing of the guard,’” said Jim Madigan. “I am both proud and honored to be a part of our family’s business, and to take on the role of president and CEO.”
He added that the company plans to expand its client base throughout New England and the rest of the country.
Jim Madigan, who has worked at the company since high school, was promoted from the position of vice president of operations. His nephew, Francis III’s son Andrew, also recently joined the firm, focusing on financial and management issues.
