Massachusetts Attorney General Martha Coakley is seeking $16 million in fines from National Grid over what she believes was insufficient preparedness for Tropical Storm Irene and the late-October snowstorm. That drew this negative reaction:

The Montachusett Regional Transit Authority has acquired an 18.6-acre site in Westminster Business Park to build a new commuter rail layover station that would support the planned extension of the Fitchburg commuter line. But would it draw more rail riders? On one condition, this reader said:

THE FUTURE OF WORK-BASED HEALTH INSURANCE?

Now that the U.S. Supreme Court has upheld the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, what lies ahead for the future of employer-provided health insurance? Here's one opinion:

I think that many companies might consider dropping health care, which … would be a good thing since it would put more decision making onto the shoulders of consumers and hopefully adjust premiums so that you pay based on your chosen lifestyle and not subsidize the poor habits of others.
