The Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce has been awarded a $30,000 grant to help spur the growth of small business in the region.
The money, called a small business technical assistance grant, will come from the Massachusetts Growth Capital Corporation, which helps preserve jobs at small, women- and minority-owned businesses, and promote economic development in underserved and low- and moderate-income communities.
"We are thrilled to receive this funding," stated Jeannie Hebert, president and CEO of the chamber. "This award ... makes possible the continued good work by our chamber to provide assistance and training to small business and entrepreneurs in the Blackstone Valley region."
The grant program helps complement and enhance the traditional public and private small business assistance by providing technical assistance or training programs for underserved and disadvantaged businesses with up to 20 employees. The program also seeks to facilitate small business economic viability and improve their ability to secure private and public financing.
