According to the U.S. Department of Commerce , the U.S.’s trade deficit widened in January.
The department reported exports of $148.2 billion and imports of $206.4 billion for the month, which resulted in a goods and services deficit of $58.2 billion.
The trade deficit was $57.9 billion in December.
January’s exports were $2.4 billion more than December’s. January’s imports were $2.7 billion more than December’s.
