The T.H.Chan School of Medicine at UMass Chan Medical School in Worcester ranks 13th in the nation and first in New England for primary care education in the U.S. News and World Report’s 2023-2024 Medical Schools Rankings.
The school dropped from number 10 nationally in 2022 for primary care education. It also ranked 44th nationally in research among medical schools, according to the U.S. News Ranking.

In April, the publication announced that UMass Chan ranked 58th in biological sciences and its doctor of nursing practice education came in 92nd.
“True to our mission, our community of collaborators at UMass Chan Medical School is advancing medicine and science, together, training the next generation of compassionate physicians, researchers and advanced practice nurses,” said Chancellor Michael Collins in the press release.
