Tower Hill Marks Gardens Day With Free Admission

As part of National Public Gardens Day, Tower Hill Botanic Garden in Boylston will offer free admission Friday, May 10.

Now in its fifth year, National Public Gardens Day is meant to raise awareness of how public gardens promote environmental stewardship and awareness, plant and water conservation, and education, Tower Hill said.

The day is a collaborative effort of the American Public Gardens Association and irrigation product and service provider Rain Bird, and there will be events at many of the more than 500 public gardens in North America.

"We are thrilled to welcome visitors free of charge to our 132-acre oasis with a variety of beautiful gardens to help them learn what grows best in New England," said Kathy Abbott, Tower Hill's executive director. "We want to connect people with plants to promote better understanding and appreciation of the important roles plants play in providing the food we eat, the water we drink and the air we breathe."

Visitors interested in attending for free May 10 must download a voucher here. There will be a guided tour of the garden at 2 p.m. Tower Hill Botanic Garden is at 11 French Drive in Boylston. Call 508-869-6111 or visit www.towerhillbg.org.
