The Massachusetts eHealth Institute (MeHI) at the state-backed Massachusetts Technology Collaborative announced $363,000 in a second round of grants aimed at improving technology adoption in the behavioral health treatment sector.
Two local agencies received money in the round, including the Bridge of Central Massachusetts, a Worcester-based human services nonprofit, and Youth Opportunities Upheld (YOU) Inc., a Worcester-based child welfare and behavioral health services organization. They each received $66,000 grants to invest in electronic health records and health information exchange projects to improve communication and care management.
The Bridge of Central Massachusetts operates 20 facilities in Worcester County and MetroWest, while YOU Inc. has nine facilities in Worcester County.
Eighteen providers received awards in the first round of the grant program, while seven received awards in the second round. Grantees will receive payments upon meeting milestones that demonstrate increasingly advanced use of health information technology systems, MeHI said.
