State officials today kicked off a new awareness campaign aimed at getting students excited about studies and careers related to science, technology, engineering and math, or STEM initiatives.
The campaign, called WOW, is aimed at “wowing” students into being excited about STEM-related activities. The program will include a series of videos educating students about different ways STEM can be valuable in life. One of the videos includes a message from Red Sox statistician Bill James, for example.
Gov. Deval Patrick and Lt. Gov. Timothy Murray unveiled the initiative at the eighth annual STEM summit, which was held this morning in Newton.
