Ruth’s Chris Steak House, an international chain of pricey restaurants, is opening a location in Worcester next year.

In its second quarter earnings report, parent company Ruth’s Hospitality Group said it signed a lease to open a restaurant in Worcester along with Short Hills, N.J. Those will both open in the second half of 2020.

The exact location  wasn’t detailed, but Mass Foodies indicated in a July 31 Facebook post that the restaurant would open in the Mercantile Center.

The Mercantile Center is planning a Monday announcement of a new tenant in the courtyard area of the commercial development, but owner Franklin Realty Advisors did not detail what kind of business would be opening there.

According to the Mercantile Center’s website, there is still over 60,000 square feet of ground-level retail space available.

The Worcester restaurant would join the company’s other Massachusetts locations in Boston and Waltham.

Not sure why they are AGAIN trying to add higher money. We went through this with the mall and it failed. Keep the city to the ones that can enjoy the usage.
