Sophie Santaella has been named executive vice president, chief operating officer at Worcester human services nonprofit Seven Hills Foundation. She will start her new role on Wednesday.
“We are incredibly excited to have this experienced mission-driven leader join our work to bring exceptional support and care to those we are privileged to serve,” Kathleen Jordan, Seven Hills executive vice president and CEO, said in a Wednesday press release.
Santaella most recently served as COO for Cambridge-based human services nonprofit Vinfen Corp., where she oversaw the expansion of residential services in Massachusetts and Connecticut for individuals with developmental and psychiatric disabilities as well as complex medical issues. She oversaw the development of a community center for individuals with brain injuries, and well as COVID response and infrastructure improvements at the company.
Prior to her work at Vinfen, she served as director of community partners and social services integration at the Massachusetts Executive Office of Health and Human Services.
Santaella’s hiring is the first addition to the Seven Hills executive team since the nonprofit’s leader, David Jordan, announced in December his intention to retire on June 30. Kathleen Jordan will take over as the Seven Hills’ top executive.
Joseph Tosches, who retired in 2019, was the last COO at the organization.
As of fiscal 2021, Seven Hills Foundation had $262.9 million in revenue and $302.7 million in assets. It is the largest human services nonprofit in Massachusetts according to the WBJ Research Department.
