MetroWest Medical Center has appointed a Saint Vincent Hospital executive as its new CEO, the hospital announced Monday.
Ava Collins was most recently the COO at Worcester's Saint Vincent Hospital and served as its interim CEO before Carolyn Jackson was named to the top position permanently in April 2019.
At MetroWest Medical Center, which has hospitals in Framingham and Natick, Collins will be the successor to Andrew Harding. Harding's tenure leading MetroWest began in October 2018. Harding has left the company, the hospital said.
Both Saint Vincent and MetroWest are owned by Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare. Jackson is the CEO of both Saint Vincent and Tenet Massachusetts.
Before joining Saint Vincent, Collins held executive leadership roles with Ochsner Health in New Orleans, including COO at Ochsner Baptist and vice president of operations at Ochsner Medical Center, as well as assistant vice president of system strategy operations. She earned her bachelor’s degree from Northeast Louisiana University and her master’s in healthcare administration from Tulane University in New Orleans.
Collins will take over at MetroWest Medical Center at a time when the hospital is working to keep up with rising coronavirus patient counts as Massachusetts sees its highest new case levels yet this month. MetroWest is also seeking state regulatory approval to turn Leonard Morse Hospital in Natick into a specialized behavioral healthcare campus.
