Quinsigamond Community College, based in Worcester, will set up a location inside Southbridge Middle High School, the college announced in conjunction with the Town of Southbridge on Tuesday.
The agreement was officially marked by a memorandum of understanding between the college and Southbridge Public Schools.
“Being closer to the communities we serve allows for a broader footprint in the region as a whole, and a more comprehensive approach to program development. Southbridge High School is a recognized and central location in the South County area,” QCC President Pedraja said in a statement.
The college’s presence in the town is intended to help bolster QCC’s Early College Program for high school students, as well as for their parents, who may take advantage of QCC’s academic and workforce development programs, according to the announcement.
QCC programming will be available to all of South County, not just Southbridge residents.
Notably, QCC will hold the majority of its programming online for the fall semester, in response to the coronavirus pandemic.
