A Minnesota-based quartz manufacturer is planning to develop a distribution center at the 32,000-square-foot Milford warehouse it bought for $5.3 million this summer.
Cambria, which crafts countertops and other surfaces from quartz, has plans to open four new sales and distribution centers, including one in Milford at 357 Fortune Blvd., which the firm bought in August.
A full gut renovation is underway at the property, according to Cambria’s press release from March 19. The new facility will feature a public art showroom in the front portion of the building in addition to the distribution space. Work is expected to be complete in May.
“The cities where these projects are located provide incredible economic opportunities for us and the local communities,” said Joel Peters, director of real estate for Cambria, in the press release. “Moreover, these buildings are much more than just warehouses—they will also serve as regional resources for the builder and remodeler trades, interior designers, and end-users.”
Cambria is developing new centers in Houston, Texas, Duluth, Ga., and Manassas, Va.
The warehouse was previously owned by Martin Sprocket & Gear Inc., a power transmission manufacturer based in Texas.
