A majority of Massachusetts voters oppose repealing the income tax, according to a new poll by Suffolk University and Boston’s Channel 7 News.
The poll found that 59 percent said they would vote no on Ballot Question #1, while 26 percent support the measure and 14 percent are undecided. Suffolk said opposition to the measure has grown since August, when a poll showed 50 percent against and 36 percent for the change.
Fifty-nine percent of survey respondents also said they expect the state to raise taxes to deal with the current budget crisis.
