The development firm behind a 845,000-square-foot UPS distribution center has bought the property for $25 million.

Prologis, a California-based real estate investment firm, purchased the 200+ acre property across eight parcels in a deal finalized on Feb. 27, according to Worcester District Registry of Deeds records.

The properties were sold by UPS, who had purchased the site for $18.3 million in 2018. The two firms regularly work with one another on new logistics sites, according to Prologis' website.

Final approval for the project was granted in December, a process which required approvals from both Shrewsbury and Grafton, as the site is bisected by the municipal border between the two towns.

The large site drew concerns about traffic from residents, according to the Community Advocate. A traffic study determined the site would generate about 5,000 total trips per weekday.
