The Webster Five Foundation, a charitable organization founded by Webster Five Cents Savings Bank, has donated $3,000 to the Higgins Armory Museum in Worcester. The funds will be used to support the museum's ongoing operations, including its outreach programs, which make the museum accessible to underfunded schools and libraries. Why Me Inc. in Worcester recently received a $10,000 grant from BJ's Charitable Foundation in support of its Childhood Cancer Lifeline program, which provides financial and emotional support for children with cancer and their parents. The Central Massachusetts South Chamber of Commerce recently awarded local students Michael Harrington, Michael Hughes, and Aoife McCarthy with $1,000 scholarships at their monthly Fun at Five networking event held at Cedar Street Restaurant in Sturbridge. The IC Federal Credit Union in Fitchburg has committed a $25,000 endowment for its recently established speaker series at Fitchburg State College, which will bring local and national business leaders to campus.
