Perry P. Neddo

Age: 34
Title: Senior Manager
Company: Bollus Lynch
Company location: Worcester
Residence: Shrewsbury

Career highlights:
I oversee and train a staff of 15, and manage assurance client relationships in various industries including manufacturing, construction, higher education, distribution, retail and nonprofits. Many of my clients are local, reputable and well-known companies and organizations. I also provide consulting services including implementation and operation of accounting systems, cash flow projections and financial statement forecasting.

After college, I spent a 1 1/2  years at Ernst and Young in Boston, and then decided I wanted to work for a smaller local firm. I chose Bollus Lynch because of the quality of clients and because the managing partners originated from large CPA firms. I have been at Bollus Lynch for 12 years.

Community involvement:
I have been a Junior Achievement classroom volunteer at Paton School in Shrewsbury. I enjoyed teaching children about money and business, and sharing with them experiences from my profession. It was rewarding to see their excitement about business as they worked in groups to complete projects.

More recently, my three young boys have kept me busy at home. I manage my oldest son’s T-ball team in Shrewsbury. Managing a group of 10 5-year-olds is very challenging and rewarding. The improvement and progress from the first practice to the last game of the season, both individually and as a team, was amazing. I look forward to managing again next season.

Biggest success:
My biggest success professionally was becoming a CPA. Public accounting is becoming increasingly technical, and the number of new CPAs entering the profession is diminishing. The requirements for becoming a CPA make it a valuable asset to businesses.

Dream job:
Working as the CFO for the Red Sox or Patriots would be exciting.

Businessperson he most admires and why:
The businessperson I most admire is my father. With three young children, he took a risk by changing careers and purchasing a small blue-collar franchise business. Although the business required early and many hours, he was able to balance work and home, while growing the franchise into a successful business.
